Fly Me 2 the Moon

UniBase#6173

End of February 2021 I received an artist fellowship to realize the work UniBase#6173.

This work is a respond to public annoucements, that Elon Musk has entitled the general counsel of SpaceX to draft a constitution for the planet Mars.

Although proclaiming a constitution for Mars is not necessarily inconsistent with human rights as a whole, nor with positioning the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as a global constitution, it does sound astonishing that this should be done by a private corporation, given the following:
- the universality of human rights
- the extraterritorial duties of states
- the ETO Consortium on Extraterritorial Obligations, established back in 2007 and composed of 80 representatives from academia and human rights organizations.

Against this backdrop, UniBase#no.6173 will ask representatives of the ETO Consortium and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights for their assessments of the legal situation in a 1st phase. Forwarded to SpaceX and Elon Musk, assessments are also requested from them.

With all incoming responds a 2nd phase will continue this work and would be best realized being in space and either close to the planets Mars or Venus, the dwarf planet Ceres or the Moon.
